Ebian Gr
Type Locality and Naming
South-central Sichuan. The Ebian Gr was named by Zeng Fanreng and He Chunsun (Ho, C. S.) in 1949. The type locality is in Ebian County, where the reference section is in Taoziba-Lanbaoping and Nanmuyuan Xiaoxigou, Jinkouhe, Ebian County, Sichuan Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Ebian Gr is subdivided into four formations; from bottom to top: Taoziba Fm (桃子坝组), Jiadanqiao Fm (枷担桥组), Lanbaoping Fm (烂包组) and Cizhuping Fm (茨竹坪组). It consists of metamorphosed clastic rock and carbonate rock, sandwiched with basic-acid volcanic rock. Details on formations not yet provided. It is 6800 m thick.

Additional Information
The Ebian Gr was first incorporated into the Proterozoic era by Shen Xing Fu in 1940. Zeng and He (1949) called it as Ebian metamorphosed rocks. The Duhe Geological Brigade calls it as Ebian System; The Mapping Group of Chengdu-Kunming along the line changes it to Ebian Gr. The Sichuan Bureau of geological and mineral (1997) divided the Ebian Gr into the Taoziba, Jiadanqiao and Cizhu formations from bottom to up. Late, the Ebian Gr had been subdivided into the Taoziba, Jiadanqiao, Lanbaoping and Cizhu formations in 1997.
